Power Rankings #2

So here we go again with the power rankings. These are through the 7/29 PM2 Cycle. The number in parentheses is last weeks rankings.

#1 (5) Arizona Diamonbacks (NL) 23-8. Arizona takes the top spot in this weeks rankings. Lou Pride is smoking the ball all over the park, batting .339 with 14 homeruns already!

#2 (1) Chicago White Sox (AL) 22-9. A current three game losing streak is the only thing that is keeping Chicago from #1. They are playing unbelievably at home, posting a 14-2 record thus far.

#3 (10) New York Yankees (AL) 21-11. New York has moved up from 10th to 3rd in this weeks rankings. They are currently on a 3-game win streak, and have already pounded out 60 homeruns as a team.

#4 (4) Houston Astros (AL) 20-11. Houston holds at #4 this week. They are led by Brent McPherson who is 4-1, and has posted a 1.56 ERA with a WHIP of just 0.96!

#5 (17) Cincinnati Reds (NL) 20-12. Cincinnati has moved up 12 spots to #5. They have won 15 of their last 22, and are led by Tony Vizcaino is leading the offensive attack batting at a scorching .422/.504/.621!

#6 (6) Philadelphia Phillies (NL) 20-12. Philadelphia comes in a #6 once again. They lead the NL East by 5 games already, and are led by Turk Wakeland who is 4-0 in long relief. An 0.64 ERA, and .125 OAV begs the question, does he deserve a rotation spot?

#7 (18) Baltimore Orioles (AL) 19-12. Baltimore has moved into the top ten coming in at 19-12. They do not lead their division however, playing in what looks to be the best division in baseball. Look for Baltimore to be in the hunt all year long for the o's!

#8 (9) Tampa Bay Rays (NL) 18-13. Tampa is tied for the division lead in the NL South and is currently on a 4 game winning streak. Tamps has won 8 of their last 10, and Joel McGriff leads the staff with a 5-1 record.

#9 (12) Texas Rangers (AL) 18-13. Texas moves up 3 spots into the top ten this week. They come in trailing Houston by just 2 games in the NL South. Earl Wingo is definitely the MVP of the league so far, batting .430 with 16 Taters!

#10 (14) New Orleans Zephyrs (NL) 18-13. New Orleans is also tied for the lead in the NL south. They are playing solid at home, going 11-4, and though no one is standing out as an MVP candidate, they are playing great baseball and finding ways to win!

Power Rankings #1

Here we go with my first power rankings. This is through the July 21st PM2 game. Feel free to comment on my rankings, and if you don't agree with them don't hesitate to call me out. I'm not perfect and input would be great! So here we go!

#1 Chicago White Sox (9-0) (AL). This is a no-doubter here. 9-0, with a team batting average of .333, and a team ERA of 3.00. Ismael Seguignol is leading the way for the Sox with a .447 average and an OPS over 1.200.

#2 Washington Nationals (8-2) (AL). Coming in at #2 is DC. DC leads the majors in team batting with a .346 AVG, they also lead in OBP, SLG, HR and Hits. Leading the way is Rob Hill who is hitting at a .486/.561/.829 clip.

#3 Rochester Red Wings (7-2) (NL) Rochester comes in at #3 in this edition of power rankings. Rochester leads the ML in team ERA with a 2.35 mark, and is led by Orlando Viriato who posted a 2-0 record and an ERA of 0.41 over the first 9 games.

#4 Houston Astros (7-2) (AL) Houston has started out hot, going 7-2 over their first nine game. Houston is batting .322 as a team, and is led by Stuffy Hollins who is hitting at a .412/.444/.882 clip.

#5 Arizona Diamondbacks (7-3) (NL) Arizona started off hot, winning 6 of their first 7. After losing 2 of 3 to the Mets, Arizona still come in at #5 in this weeks rankings, leading the NL West. Lou Pride is leading the D-Backs with a .400 AVG and 6 homeruns in his first 10 games.

#6 Philadephia Phillies (7-3) (NL) Philadelphia also started out the season on fire winning 6 of seven. Eric Glynn has raked 15 RBI's in 10 games. Look for the Phillies to be a power in the NL East.

#7 Detroit Tigers (6-3) (NL) Detroit is leading the NL North with a 6-3 mark.B.C. Peterson has lead the Tigers pitching staff, going 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA.

#8 San Francisco Giants (6-3) (NL) The Giants are leading the NL West after posting a 6-3 mark to start the season. Pitching has gotten it done for SF, with Phil Farrell and Nicholas Donatello each going 2-0, with 0.50 and 1.20 ERAs respectively.

#9 Tampa Bay Rays (6-3) (NL) Tampa leads the NL South with a 6-3 mark. Joel McGriff is leading the pitching staff with a 2-0 reocrd and a miniscule 0.64 ERA

#10 New York Yankees (6-4) (AL) The Yankees have won their last 3 and move into 9th place this week. Samuel File is leading the pitching staff with a 2-0 record, and an ERA of 2.25.

Welcome to Robert E. McCabe

Hey guys,

This blog will be dedicated to the HBD world Robert E. McCabe which is currently in season one. I plan to post power rankings, playoff predictions, Awards predictions, as well as having a game of the week. If anyone has any idea for improvements to the blog, or would like to see anything added please let me know. I could use help with posting as well, so if anyone else wants to post anything, that would be great.
